Burnt birch vase - standard

Made from the branch of a fallen hazel tree.

The vase is shaped and carved with a carving axe and knife, then sanded to keep the subtle form and texture of the wood. The vase is burnt to get a rich, deep, natural colour through the wood.

The vase is made from wood that was found in the woods of Kent.

The vase you will receive is made from a similar timber stock to that pictured. It will be a unique item bearing all the usual soft, pale characteristics of hazel.

The outside is finished with oil and wax. The vase is lined with glass and holds water for use with flowers.
